Darrell Holden is a proud 5th generation rancher, from Vernon Utah. He and his wife, Angie, raise kids and cattle on the West Desert of Utah. He started writing cowboy poetry in 1983 while a freshman in high school. Started preforming after some gentle nudges by his mother, wife and daughter. (Nudges may have been slightly veiled threats of bodily harm). He writes about his life; humor, strife, pain, joy and anything ranching. Carrying the legacy handed to him from his ancestors, Darrell finds writing to be therapeutic and healing for the heart.
Darrell's married to his best friend and sweetheart, Angie, whom they share two amazing kids, Hailey and Dalton, and a great son in law, Hyrum. Darrell's happiest a horseback with family and cattle and is honored to continue this cowboy poetry tradition. A fierce defender of ranching families and the stewardship we all have with livestock and nature, Darrell loves to perform for gatherings, private events and especially, cattlemen’s association meetings and schools.
